We’re proud to share that RISE Projects has been honoured with the Haringey Hero Award 2025, in recognition of our commitment to making a meaningful impact in the local community. The award was presented at the annual Haringey Hero Awards ceremony on 15 May 2025, celebrating individuals and organisations that have gone above and beyond to improve the lives of Haringey residents.
This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of our entire team and volunteers, who work tirelessly throughout the year to deliver inclusive, grassroots initiatives that uplift and empower our community. It was an inspiring evening that shone a light on many of Haringey’s unsung heroes—people and groups quietly making a difference every day.
This year, our work has tackled some of the most pressing issues facing local residents from supporting young people through sports and mentoring, to helping families navigate housing challenges, to making healthcare more accessible through our monthly pop-up clinics. We’ve continued to create safe, inclusive spaces where residents can access the advice, services, and opportunities they need to thrive.
“This award means so much to us,” said Awale Elmi, Director of RISE Projects. “It validates our belief that real change begins at community level—with trust, collaboration, and consistency. It’s a recognition of the hundreds of hours our team and volunteers put in, week in and week out, to be present for our community. We share this honour with every young person we’ve mentored, every resident we’ve supported, and every partner that’s helped us do this work.”
As we enter the second half of 2025, our resolve is stronger than ever. We are expanding our reach, deepening our impact, and launching new projects that respond to the evolving needs of our community. Whether it’s mental health, education, employment, or public health, we are committed to being a catalyst for equity, empowerment, and opportunity.
Thank you to the Haringey Council and the Hero Awards panel for recognising our work and to every resident, volunteer, and partner who makes this possible.
RISE Projects will continue to stand for change that matters because everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.
