HOW WE WORK

We start with the community.

Our work is shaped by the people we support. We listen to residents, understand local needs and develop practical responses with the community rather than for the community.

Local knowledge shapes what we do.

RISE was built through relationships with local residents and communities across Haringey. Those relationships continue to shape how we work today.

We create opportunities for residents to tell us what is happening in their lives, what is working and where support is missing. We use that understanding to develop activities, services and partnerships that respond to real needs.

Sometimes that means delivering support ourselves. At other times, our role is to connect residents with organisations that can provide the right specialist help.

OUR APPROACH

Listen. Connect. Deliver. Learn.

A simple approach that helps us stay close to the community while building effective services and partnerships.

01

Listen

We listen to residents through conversations, activities, outreach, focus groups and everyday contact.

02

Connect

We connect people with opportunities, services, organisations and other members of the community.

03

Deliver

We develop practical programmes and support that respond to needs identified within the community.

04

Learn

We learn from participation, feedback and outcomes so that our work continues to improve.

WHAT THIS MEANS IN PRACTICE

How we approach our work.

01

Community-led

Our work is informed by local experiences, conversations and relationships.

We aim to create spaces where residents are not simply receiving services but can participate, contribute ideas and help shape what happens in their community.

02

Working in partnership

Many of the challenges residents face cannot be addressed by one organisation alone.

We work with health services, local authorities, voluntary organisations, schools and other partners to bring services closer to local communities.

03

Practical support

We focus on practical help that makes a difference to people's everyday lives.

That can mean joining an activity, getting advice, finding employment support, speaking to a health professional or being connected to specialist services.

CONNECTED SUPPORT

One conversation can lead to wider support.

Residents often come to RISE for one reason and discover other activities, services and opportunities that may help.

STEP 01

Come through the door

Join an activity, attend a drop-in, visit the Hub or contact the RISE team.

STEP 02

Have a conversation

We listen and understand what is happening and what support may be useful.

STEP 03

Find the right next step

That may be a RISE programme, practical support or a connection to another organisation.

STEP 04

Stay connected

Residents can continue participating, volunteering, building skills and accessing new opportunities.

Working across the community.

Partnership working is central to the RISE approach. Our role is often to create a bridge between residents and organisations that want to reach and support local communities.

By combining community relationships with the expertise and resources of partner organisations, we can make support more accessible and ensure services respond better to local needs.
